Mandy Miles is the founder and Clinical Director of Make a Difference.  She has over 30 years experience in the welfare sector. After completing a social work degree in 1980 she provided individual and family therapy and group counselling in the areas of out-of-home care for children, addictions, and mental health, with a special emphasis on adults who had grown up in alcoholic family.

Mandy has also held a range of management roles, including senior management with a major Australian charity.

Mandy is employed by NSW Health as an Official Visitor, and she sits on the Board of NSW CAG – the peak body for mental health consumers.

Nadia Taylor has been a Director of Make a Difference charity since 2001, driven by a passion to help the under privileged children of the world.

Nadia is also the Director & co-founder of tna, a highly successful supplier of integrated food packaging solutions with over 26 offices globally. Nadia’s role encompasses public relations and business development, as well as the oversight of tna’s  philanthropic programs.

Nadia and tna have long been involved in many philanthropic causes both in Australia and overseas and will continue to make a difference to the lives of those in need.

Ken Cappie-Wood has worked as a financial adviser in the private wealth area for over 30 years. He is currently a partner and senior adviser at Evans and Partners.  Previously he was an Executive Director at UBS Wealth Management and before that a partner in PwC. 

Ken specialises in structuring and managing the investment portfolios of private clients.  He is fully accredited in the financial advisory field.   He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

He joined Make a Difference as a Director in 2012. He regularly volunteers as a camp leader on Make a Difference camps, and a couple of years ago walked 600kms of the Camino Trail in Spain with his son Tom to raise funds for Make a Difference.  He is married to Loretta and they have two adult children, Tom and Heather.

Tim Keith is the Managing Director, Business Markets Australia with National Australia Bank.  Tim has 20 years experience in commercial & wholesale banking predominantly within the nab Group.

Tim joined the board of Make A Difference in 2012, finally honouring a long standing New Year’s resolution to assist a charitable cause.  He first became involved with Make A Difference as a regular donor.

I was attracted to Make a Difference by its underdog/charity of last resort status and low cost structure.  Once I met Mandy Miles, I became inspired to bring her vision into reality.

Tim is married to Carolyn & has two young boys Joel & Max.  Tim's interests include any activity involving his family outdoors such as surfing, skiing, swimming, boating & fishing.  He is an avid fan of Sydney's harbour and beaches.

Kevin Summerell has lived in Campbelltown for most of his life, is a CoDA (Child of Deaf Adults), and has experienced a parent suffering from a mental illness. He moved out of home when he was sixteen.

Kevin volunteers as a leader in the Make a Difference camp program, enjoys reading and politics (can name every Australian PM in order), and loves to develop his general knowledge. He aspires to become a practising lawyer and has been mentored by Mandy Miles, Make a Difference’s Founder, since early adolescence.
